SD STEP 3

Evaluate the day care home's corrective action.

In Step #3, the sponsoring organization will evaluate the written CAP for adequacy. The following questions should be asked when evaluating a CAP submitted by a day care home provider.

Was it received by the deadline?

QUESTION

Is it understandable?

QUESTION

Does it answer the who, what, when, where and how?

QUESTION

Does the CAP include new or revised processes and procedures that have been implemented and enforced that address the root cause of the SD?

QUESTION

Does the CAP fully and permanently resolve all Serious Deficiencies?

QUESTION

Does the CAP include supporting documentation that demonstrates a full understanding of Program requirements?

NOTE: If the answer is "no" to any of the above questions... 1. Will clarification of the information in the CAP assist with addressing the root cause of the SD?

1. If yes, request clarification of the corresponding components of the written CAP.
2. If no, move to SD Step 4 to deny CAP.
